FAQS + HOTELS

  • Tuxedo is a ~1 hour drive from NYC, depending on traffic.

    By Train:

We recommend taking the NJ Transit 1:00PM Train from Penn Station arriving to Tuxedo Park at 2:24. If you take this train, we’ll pick you up from the station! You’ll need to transfer in Secaucus.

    By Uber/Lyft:

Usually a cab is ~$80-120, which is best if shared! Make sure you put in the correct address for the Tuxedo Park Main Clubhouse, because it can be tricky to find. The destination should look like it’s on the north end of the lake.

    DRIVE + PARK:

We will have valet parking available. Please note there is NO SERVICE around Tuxedo, so you must have the destination mapped correctly as you cannot fix it once you enter Tuxedo :)

  • It takes ~35-55 minutes to drive from Irvington to Tuxedo. Sometimes bridge traffic is random… map it about 2 hours before you need to leave to make sure you have enough time.

You’ll need to take an Uber/Lyft or Drive :)

  • Take the Peak Hour Hudson line train from Grand Central on Friday evening.

This is fast! You can walk from the Irvington station to our home. It’s a ~15 minute walk (up-hill! be warned) but we do it daily.

There’s a great walking path + shortcut - take a left off Main Street next to the school and walk through the parking lot. You’ll see the Aqueduct trail. Take your second right - up through Matthiesen Park (big houses). Our house is across Broadway.

  • Tuxedo is close enough to NYC that it probably makes most sense to stay there if you live there, or want to visit the city.

If you’re coming from out of town, we’ll have folks staying around Irvington which will make it easier to hang out with us on Friday + Sunday.

Our recommended hotels are the Tarrytown House Estate and the Sleepy Hollow Hotel, both 5 minutes from our house and a ~30 minute drive from Tuxedo. Info BELOW!

  • Fun Facts:

    • Tuxedo Park had a heyday of prosperous years from 1880s-1920s, with many notable residents. In recognition of its historical and ARCHitectural significance, the historic district was listed as Tuxedo Park on the National Register of Historic Places on March 13, 1980.

    • Tuxedo Park is a members club that includes swimming, tennis, golf, and use of the boathouse! It used to be exclusive for Park residents, but now is open to anyone.

    • The Renaissance Fair will be happening in Tuxedo (as it does every year) from early September - Oct 6th!

    • The evening dress for men now popularly known as a tuxedo takes its name from Tuxedo Park. It was brought there by James Brown Potter, who was introduced to the garment, which is called a dinner jacket in England, by the Prince of Wales.

    Some Quirks to Prepare For:

    • There’s no service in Tuxedo Park (very very limited!) … this makes it easy to get lost!

  • We plan to offer some shuttles home.

Shuttle to Irvington (Tarrytown House Estate): departing 11:30PM

Shuttle to NYC: Departing 9:30PM, 11:30PM

If you want a ride home via Uber/Lyft, make sure to schedule it in advance! There’s no service to order them once you’re there :)

  • We’d love for you to join us with or without your kids.

Assuming they’re able to sit capably at a table and chill, they’re welcome to join for any portion of the evening so long as they’re not distracting the ceremony!

The venue, however, cannot accommodate high chairs, booster seats, specific kids meals, or strollers next to the tables (space issues!) etc. There is likely separate rooms nearby to keep a stroller though. Rose says lap infants are cool :) - Brandon says, eh?! You know your kids best! <3

If you’re keen to bring your (young, under 12) kid, please reach out to Rose!

Final option: Younger children are welcome to join for the lawn party starting 6:30PM so long as you're comfortable watching them. The lawn party will have food + dessert.. this is a more casual atmosphere if seated dinner is too much for the youngsters!

Or you can ditch ‘em and party :D

  • We love throwing parties. We also love great classic rock and reggae. Come ready to boogie + lounge!
